Day 31 of PURPOSE – What do you want?

What do you Want? We recently started a course and a discussion group on 'The Secret' and The Law of Attraction. Often times our daily conversations can be trivial and inconsequential. I sense that there are dormant forces in the human spirit that long desire meaningful and passionate conversations. Sometimes in trying to communicate what we want, we find ourselves with a desire that is ineffable "incapable of being expressed in words." However, we always know what we are feeling. Do you often find yourself, knowing what you are feeling, but not knowing what you are wanting? If you often find yourself in this situation, do you think that your clients are facing a similar obstacle to explaining to you what they truly desire. For as far back as we can remember, writing has been the creative gateway to expressing and discovering our desires. One does not have to be a poet, a journalist, or an author, you just have to think...................................................... think about what you are feeling, ponder it, explore it, write it and act on it. What do you want? Share it with others, invite your clients, and join the discussion.

The quality of conversation is typically the quality and character of the individual. It's clear that people value engaging, stimulating conversations that challenge their thinking and/or simply introducing a new idea. Think of the success that Starbucks's "The Way I see it" promotion has enjoyed. The entire purpose of that program was to start conversations are the thinking of unique individuals. The program has been widely successful and has been extended to included the perspective of starbucks consumers worldwide. Perhaps, we can start be capturing our most valued beliefs, write them down and starting conversations around them.

My Quality or Feeling that I want to have is PASSION. The creation of this course was my first action step toward having this feeling of PASSION thrive in my life. What is your feeling that you want to experience and what is your first action step?

My Quality or Feeling that I want to have is SERENTIY. I am looking for a feeling of calmness for myself which can carry over into business as well. The action steps to take would be to schedule a time with myself, no phones, emails, to meditate to where my heart and mind should be and then a reward of an hour massage.

My quality or feeling that I want is PEACE and JOY. To accomplish that I must find time daily to meditate, pray and be thankful. By doing this I can be joyful in my day. I need to increase the time of meditation so that I can find clarity in my journey and clarity in what I want to do the rest of my life. I need to be thankful and grateful at all times so that I can find peace amongst the daily negative distractions. These daily rituals will eventually become as natural as getting up and brushing my teeth. With these practices I will be able to accomplish inner peace and joy.

The feeling that I am constantly searching for in my life is the feeling of freedom. I used to think that making the right income or having the right job would give me that feeling. I have come to realize that is not the case. So I ask myself every morning as I get out of bed is today the day that this feeling of freedom will suddenly rush over my body. And of course I know that it does not happen like that but I have to make myself aware that the income I am making now and the journey I have just started on is an ongoing process to reach that pinnacle of success that I am despreatly searching for. And then I stand back and realize today is the day that I get one step closer to what I really want out of life. The three things I will do is 1)study the habits of successful people. 2)surround myself with successful people 3) take a little time for myself and realize that in my world that only means something to me I am successful. To realize it is ok to stand back and look at what you have accomplished and what you are about to accomplish and smile, just for a min.

Comment for Debbie: The meditation will be great, let me know how it goes. Wayne Dyer tells me 'that the morning breeze has secrets to tell, do not go back to sleep'.
Moe mentioned in his blog that we ought to start by talking about our most valued beliefs. On the call, Debbie, which you will be receiving a recording of, we talked about matching our beliefs up with our desires. So your desire or feeling is Joy and Peace. Now, what is the belief you have about that desire? On the call we used this example: I want prosperity and money (Desire), but I don't think it will happen (belief). So the desire of prosperity is a number 10 desire, like your's of joy and peace, but the belief is a number 5 belief, which resembles pessimism or doubt. The next step would be to define the belief that you are holding about that and the next step would be adopting a process that helps modify that belief, which you have started with the meditation. And as you read in the iThought we sent out beliefs go back at least 7 generations in our DNA. My personal struggle over the last few years was that I wanted to feel more joy and fulfillment in my work, but my belief was that I was afraid of losing, rather than winning. That was a number 10 desire for me but a belief of doubt. And I had to dig deep to discover that that was my belief, because if my belief was that, joy and fulfillment is on its way, then I would have that fulfillment showing up in my life. That simple belief in which I was fearing losing caused me to procrastinate and not trust my intuition. I've made great strides in modifying that behavior, and where I used to have no faith, I am filled with faith today. I'd like to here your belief so that I can learn from you on whats working or what has worked in the past. Thanks for sharing

comment for Tucker: Thats very inspiring Tuck, especially the part on stepping back and smiling for a minute.... Heck take two or three or even an hr. I actually love comment about getting out of bed and having that feeling of freedom rush over your body. It actually can happen like that. Theres something out there called Quantum change where changes get precipitated in a signature moment. In fact once you are aware of this, you are more likely to have one. Its most common in people 40 and above, but we;ve never been on anyone elses time table, so jump in. In Fact, I've jut had one recently.....as I was listening to it, it happened. Here are the Four Characteristics: Its always a surprise, but when it hits you, you know you are free. 2) its always benevolent, meaning its lways about love or joy 3) its always enduring, so it never goes away 4)You remember it so clearly, even the date and the time

So I'm sure your is on its way, and then you'll feel freeedom.....As william Wallace would say from Braveheart 'Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddddoooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Comments for Shell: I can identify with you comment of serenity. I've been so tired of rushing all the time. I catch myself at the gym all the time, and I have 90 minutes to get through my work out and I just got there and I'm rushing. So in the past i used to turn up myheadphones, which cause more noise and rush, I used to take caffeine, which causedd more hyperness. And since I've started meditating, I am rushing less. I don't take caffeine anymore, ever. I need less sleep. 5 hrs a night and I'm up with plenty of energy. Often times I listen to peaceful music while i workout. So the meditation was one part, but the other part was how I wanted to live my worklife. I had my mind trained for 8 yrs, that I get up at 4:30, I come home at 9. I barely ate lunch, I rushed through everything, I didnt socialize during the week, and then when I left my former career, i realized the circumstances had changed but I had the same darn habits. And while my work is amazing right now, it wasn't as amazing as it could be because I hated my work habits. So, I started to experiment. I started going to the gym at night, I started to mix up my work schedule, I would work very late and get up later. The end result for me is that by experimenting and trying to find a way that was right for Ted and not the rest of the world, I discovered what the right way was and I love it and it is completely different than waht it used to be, but at the same time its not that far off. The beauty of it is that I decided this is what I want, rather than this is what I have to live with. Yours may not be as extreme as mine but I thought I would share it. Thanks for sharing

This may sound cheesy, but it's the best analogy I can make. In the story, Peter Pan, they had to think of their happy thought in order to fly. My children are my happy thought. They make me fly. My strongest desire is to be the best father I can be and actively particpate in their lives. I also want to live as an example to my children. I have spent most of my life helping others, another desire is for my children to do the same. Professionaly, my desire is to help others pursue their own happy thoughts whatever they may be.

Comment is for Brian T. I love your analogy about Peter Pan. I feel the same way. When I'm in a bad place I just have to think of my girls and my grandson. It's amazing how quickly you come out of it. Not cheesy at all.

Ted, thank you for your inspired words. When I first was introduced with The Secret it was like a light bulb went off because everything I learned and studied throughout the years about self finally made sense. It all fit into place. I have put the beliefs into action on a daily basis and have seen results on a small scale. My desires and beliefs are there but the outer influences sometimes get the best of me. But it does get easier. I probably preach more then I practice and I'm working on that. I have the gift of gab so I'm always passing on my knowledge.

My feeling that I am always searching for in life is JOY!!! Ever since I started watching The Secret in the summer of '06, it has just reiterated all the JOY that I have had and brought into my life. Anytime that I feel an overwhelming feeling in my life, I remember that I create my own destiny and that I have the ability to change my way of thinking just like that. An action step that I can do to achieve JOY when I am feeling overwhelmed is to walk away from what I am presently doing to just be by myself and think about all the wonderful things I have in my life (family, friends, career, health, prosperity) to realize that whatever is going on that is taking me away from my joyous state shall too pass and take me to my next joyous experience.
