Welcome to iEvolution's 40 Days of Purpose conversation

Welcome to iEvolution's 40 Days of Purpose conversation. We're a global community of aspiring entrepreneurs in the financial services and mortgage industries who come together to learn, grow and leverage the power of ideas to create a better future for us all.

In the book- "Repacking Your Bags"- Richard Leider reported that research shows that people's number one deadly fear is the fear of "having lived a meaningless life." Knowing your purpose can help you overcome this fear and live an inspired life; as such, this is perhaps the most critical activity in which each of us should engage. Drawing on the works of great philosophers, influential thought leaders and the entire iEvolution community, we're excited to announce iE's 40 Days of Purpose conversation. This ongoing community conversation will gather online to collaborate, share stories and ask the tough questions that will challenge all us to discover who we are and perhaps get us closer to learning what we're living for. Join us as we share wisdom from the world's most admired people including Henry Ford, Thomas Watson Sr., Sam Walton, Jack Welch, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson, Nikos Mourkogiannis, Richard Leider, and perhaps most important, Rick Warren.

Thoughts on Purpose
by Ted McGrath

I want you to stop right now and re-read my title. The blog that has been created here is about 40 days spent exploring your purpose and throughout these days I am going to share my thoughts on Purpose, but I will share them in a different context. You see, I am talking about having thoughts on pppppppppppppppppppppurpose to create your purpose. What I mean by that is having THOUGHTS ON PURPOSE........having intentional thoughts. Once we are able to create intentional thoughts in our heads, hence the words THOUGHTS ON PURPOSE, then our real purpose in life will start showing up in the external world we live in. So if we don't have thoughts that are on purpose, thoughts that are intentional then we will never start living a life based on our purpose because unintentional thoughts are normally other peoples thoughts that we have picked up along the way and somewhere along the line we just figured that it would be easier to carry out someone elses thoughts and someone elses purpose.....therefore our thoughts are on autopilot, our days are on autopilot, and pretty soon we're waking up to someone elses life and one day we end up saying, "Where did all the time go?? or How did it all end up like this?? or Do you remember the good old days?? When the truth is the good old days were when you actually still had thoughts of your own.....way back when we were in kindergarden..

So whoever wants to join me....Lets start with the mind....And my promise to the community is that I will be the most dedicated student in these next 40 days. I will challenge someone to outwork me during these forty days of purpose. Tomorrow I will share my Daily routine ....... 3 hrs/day on how I create my thoughts on purpose, and how these intentional thoughts that I work on daily have created a meaningful life for me and will continue to crystalize my place and my passion in this world.

"Purpose on Purpose" is the name of the program I am creating to inspire Vitality, Passion, and power in the lives of people who want Change.

Decision on Purpose:

Decision is the electricity that makes everything work. It is the fuel that turns all potential into actuality and turns all promise into achievement.

People have asked me for years, "How do you maintain your focus and your ability to Persevere?" My answer is simple, I make the decision to turn inward where nothing eles matters except my ability to Inspire myself. Inspired means to be 'In Spirit' I learned this focus and perseverence through my athletic career in college. I got beat so bad one year and lost so many matches that any normal human being would have quit, lost their focus, and not persevered. However, I turned inward, beating after beating, and knew that if I kept coming back, things would change and they would cahnge for the better. At that time, I didn't believe in my abilities, but I believed in me. Believeing is the same thing as knowing, you just don't have physical proof yet. I made the decision that I was going to play collegiate tennis for one of the best schools in division 2 tennis and thats exactly what I did. That decision was a turning point in my life that made me realize, that once I decide what I want, I will take action on that decision, and nothing, absolutely nothing will deter my course of action. Then when I couple that decision with a belief in the outcome that I want, everything becomes possible. I want to be the role model for people to say, "I want to believe, as he does"

Decide what you want and Turn Inward......
